At 100 Shapes, we design internal tools for the world’s largest organisations. As we grow, we’re looking for our first HR manager to shape our organisation into an employee-focused, data-driven, super-team! 💯 💪

Our entire approach to design focuses on the employees: make tools for the staff, and they’ll love the jobs they do. Our workforce is no different. We’ve worked hard to create a close-knit team of expert designers and developers. It’s now time to give them all the tools they need, and remove all obstacles so that they can excel.

That’s where you come in: we need someone to define the structure that we need for our staff to be brilliant. You’ll need to establish how we do things, nurture talent, and manage how to reward high-achievers.

Responsibilities

You should continuously interrogate every single aspect of your duties to help decide if there’s a better way of doing things. That said, 100 Shapes requires:


Performance management (~40%)

You’ll have to develop new measurements of performance and a method to gauge employee morale and improve employee satisfaction.

We’ve developed a fair OKRs structure that rewards people who go above and beyond what’s needed. You’ll keep an eye on these figures in order to understand where we can improve.


Employee development, and training (~30%)

You’ll have a central role as the liaison between the business and the workforce. It’ll be your job to make sure the needs of everyone are met so that we can perform as best as possible.

You’ll use the personal rapport that you’ll build with each team member, to develop individual development and training plans that will result in more fulfilling work.


Policy development (~25%)

We like to work within a structure. You’ll need to help us define our policies and processes that will help everyone understand what they can rely upon and what is expected in return. We’ll need documents describing how we do everything from time-off and working from home to employee onboarding and health & safety. Once they’re published, they’ll need to be reported to the team and kept up to date with current legislation.


Recruiting (~5%)

We need our definition of a hiring process; one that’s suited to how we like to do things. You’ll have to create this methodology and the tracking that goes with it.

Day-to-day activities

You’ll report directly to the CEO but work autonomously to meet your objectives. Your daily tasks will include: 1-on-1 with team members

  • Identifying issues with processes and policies, and recommending improvements
  • Discussing strategy regarding policies and performance with the board of directors
  • Providing feedback to CEO


Qualifications & Skills

Experience & certifications

  • Bachelor’ Degree in Human Resources or related business field:
    • Human resources management
    • Psychology
    • Social administration
  • 3+ years relevant HR experience
  • Nice to have: CIPD level 3 Diploma


Technical skills

  • Apple Mac
  • Web-based research
  • Google products:
    • Spreadsheets
    • Documents
    • Slides
  • Presentation planning and delivery
  • Workshop planning


Soft skills

  • Communication – You understand that everyone is different and you actively find different ways to get your message across.
  • Collaboration – We’re a team, and we need each other to succeed. You understand your role and how it supports everyone else
  • Empathy – Your role requires that you understand the wants and needs of all the staff.


Personality

The role fits an individual who is goal-focused: someone who likes working to a desired outcome. Progress towards the result will always be measured so you must be someone who likes to discuss the figures.

Just like the rest of us at 100 Shapes, you’re an autonomous, self-starter. You find your own ways to meet your objectives as efficiently as possible. Your role will require you to know the staff, so you must be comfortable with close contact 1-on-1 as well as broader group discussions.
