Join us to lead the charge in improving the 9-to-5

As a Service Designer, you will work with our clients to research existing work processes and define how things should change to add additional capacity, extend capabilities or gain efficiencies.

You’ll lead research, strategy, for multiple end-to-end user experiences that empower people to do their jobs and let them lead more rewarding lives at work. You’ll unearth, understand and share the business requirements of our clients, the emotional needs of the end users and the technology that brings it all to life.

At 100 Shapes we are united by a shared passion for using design to make people’s working-lives better. We are driven by the pursuit of quality — a belief that the quality of our tools directly influences the quality of our lives at work and the performance of the businesses we work with.

We’re looking for a Service Designer to help us pursue our vision of becoming the chosen design studio for all big businesses looking to enhance the lives of their employees and the performance of their business through creating better tools.

You are

Someone that cares deeply about understanding how and why people use digital products as part of a full-functioning service. You’re a champion for the user’s needs and goals so that the service runs efficiently. You have the ability to see things as they might be, not as they necessarily are. You can solve problems both creatively and analytically.

You work with authority and professionalism: applying dedication and resourcefulness to all your work. You delegate tasks to maximise the efficiency of your team and offer feedback that ensures a high quality of design.

You’re curious and proactive, often challenging and inspiring people around you with ideas of what’s possible. You’re an impeccable communicator: knowing how best to communicate your ideas and help the team understand what we’re making. You bring the following competencies to 100 Shapes:

  • At least 3 years of professional design experience.
  • Strong communication and organisation skills.
  • Excellent project and people management skills, with the ability to lead as well as individually contribute.
  • Skilled in the usual design and prototyping tools.

You will

  • Research existing processes to understand workflows, politics, influences and motivations
  • Define touchpoints throughout the service
  • Work with UX Designers to define specific products at relevant touchpoints
  • Own the design of services you work with and make sure they function exceptionally in the hands of users.
  • Create, communicate and execute a clear design strategy to those who need to know.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct research to gather user needs and business requirements.
  • Set the vision and produce concepts and prototypes that demonstrate and push our idea of what’s possible.
  • Produce clear requirement specifications to communicate your thinking
  • Communicate research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed designs and rationale to project teams.
  • Work closely with internal and client-side product development teams to ensure that design specifications are implemented.
  • Help grow our studio’s design capabilities by sharing your experience and methodologies with the company.
  • Manage the design process, drive decisions, track issues and estimate resource needs.
  • Lead small teams of designers.
  • Use your passion to exceed client expectations, inspire co-workers and help us build our interaction design capabilities.
